Health Science Scholars

This program includes a scholarship component; therefore, application responses should reflect thoughtful consideration and genuine effort. Applicants are encouraged to provide sufficiently detailed responses that will set them apart from other applicants.  


To apply for this program, you must have applied and been admitted to UNK. Following that, you will need your NUID number to list on this application. 

Applicants do not need to be Nebraska residents to apply.


This program supports students pursuing health careers through shared learning, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the following:
  • Achieve a minimum ACT Composite score of 21 or an SAT total score of 1075. 
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Demonstrate a desire to become a healthcare provider and possess knowledge of the profession.
  • Express a willingness to practice in rural Nebraska.

  • Eligible for Federal Pell grants
